Sustainable Ag Expo Spotlights Agricultural Robotics
There have been harvesting robots since the 1970s. Yet, there are still no commercial harvesting robots for most crops in 2022, a UC Davis professor noted last week during his presentation on agricultural robotics at Sustainable Ag Expo and International Sustainable Winegrowing Summit in San Luis Obispo. Robots need to be highly efficient and fast, said UC Davis Prof. Stavros Vougioukas, who researches agricultural robotics. These two factors determine “the economics of robotics,” Vougioukas said Nov. 14.
